Using the workbench

Encounter Workbench is a preparation tool for tabletop games. Keep your account secure. Do not use the service to access another person’s records, interfere with the service, or upload content you do not have permission to use.

Your encounters

You retain your rights to the original content you provide. You give us permission to store, process, and display that content to operate the features you use. You can export your encounters or delete your account.

Statistics and AI suggestions

Monster statistics and encounter budgets come from the System Reference Document 5.2.1 under CC BY 4.0. Original notes and layout are separate from official statistics. Difficulty is an estimate. Review AI suggestions and monster abilities before running a session. AI generation is available through the ChatGPT plugin; signing in to this website does not itself authorize ChatGPT plan usage for website AI requests.

Availability

This service is an early release. Features may change and interruptions may occur. Export encounters you want to keep. We may restrict abusive usage or suspend access when needed to protect users and the service.

Third-party services

Netlify, Convex, and OpenAI provide parts of the service and have their own terms. Encounter Workbench is independently developed and is not endorsed by Wizards of the Coast or OpenAI.
